Counselling Service For You

Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is a depth-oriented, evidence-based approach that supports lasting psychological and emotional change by exploring the underlying patterns shaping thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and relationships. Unlike short-term symptom management alone, psychotherapy works at both conscious and unconscious levels to address trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, attachment wounds, identity issues, and long-standing emotional distress. Through a safe and confidential therapeutic relationship, psychotherapy helps regulate the nervous system, build insight, improve emotional regulation, and support meaningful personal growth and resilience over time.

When undertaken with a skilled professional, psychotherapy offers profound and sustainable benefits, including improved mental health, stronger relationships, increased self-understanding, and a greater sense of agency and wellbeing.
Dr Gaye Cameron is highly experienced and extensively qualified in delivering psychotherapy grounded in evidence-based practice, neuroscience, and person-centred care. Her integrative approach supports clients to move beyond surface-level coping, resolve deep-rooted emotional patterns, and create lasting change that supports long-term psychological health and life satisfaction.

Guidelines for Online Appointments
We can maximise our online experience if we both:
-
ensure that we have a private, quiet, dedicated place for our meeting.
-
make sure that we have all that we need at our fingertips, for example; notes, books, pad, pen and a drink.
-
remove distractions; ensure that the TV, radio, kids, work colleagues or other computer applications are turned off.
-
have had a few minutes to prepare ourselves before meeting, so that we are relaxed and
-
focused, not rushed with scattered thoughts.
-
consider this a normal appointment, the same as if visiting a G.P, Dentist or other healthcare professional in their office. We wouldn’t wear our pyjamas to an appointment (though we might like to), so lets keep the space professional.
